In episodes 2 and 3 of the first Brothers in Baby Loss podcast series, we heard from Jeff who walked us through his and Elaine’s journey into baby loss and the circumstances around Chester passing. This also included the story of their surviving twin Matilda, who herself had a complex start to life.
After losing Chester, the family received an Aching Arms Bear with love from the
family of Oscar Joseph Willmer. This gesture showed that the family were not alone
and that there were other parents, siblings and other wider friends and families
experiencing the heartbreaking effect that baby loss can have.
On Sunday 6th April 2025, Elaine, in memory of Chester, and to raise much vital
funds for Aching Arms, ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon. Elaine was proudly supported by her long-time friend Lisa.

Together, through various fundraising initiatives and sponsorship, they have raised an incredible £7,500 to support the vital work of Aching Arms.
Both Elaine and Lisa finished the marathon in 3 hours and 12 minutes, which is an amazing achievement, and we are sure Chester was sitting on the moon watching over them both, whilst JJ, Matilda and Dexter cheered their amazing mummies on from the side lines.
Congratulations to both Elaine and Lisa, you are both amazing.
